Why ASUU Opposed FG’s IPPIS Style – Onochie

Lauretta Onochie, the Special Assistant to President Muhammadu Buhari on social media, has accused the Academic Staff Union of Universities of opposing the Integrated Personnel Payroll System suggested by the Federal Government because of their fraudulent practices.

The leaders of the union had threatened to go on strike and summoned an emergency National Executive Council meeting to mobilise its members to that effect.

The development came after President Buhari directed that any worker not on the IPPIS would no longer receive a monthly salary.

Onochie who took to her Twitter account on Sunday said, “Reason ASUU is fighting the Integrated Payroll and Personnel Information System (IPPIS) is that many Lecturers dash from one university to another as full-time Lecturers.”

“The IPPIS will expose those with multiple full-time jobs.”
