What World Leaders Are Saying About Russia’s Attack On Ukraine

The war between Russia and Ukraine has seen world leaders share their thoughts about the development which is life-threatening and could lead to World War III if not handled appropriately.

The invasion of the Russian government in the neighbouring country has been widely condemned by world leaders who understand the gravity of the attack.

World leaders had joined their voices to condemn Russia’s attack on Ukraine.

– The United States Of America

The President of the United States of America, Joe Biden while reacting to the ongoing war noted that they would continue to provide support to Ukraine.

He further stated that the world will hold Russia accountable for the military onslaught which he described as “unprovoked and unjustified”.

Biden said, “My prayers are with the people of Ukraine as they suffer an unprovoked and unjustified attack by Russian military forces,” Biden said in an address.

“Russia alone is responsible for the death and destruction this attack will bring, and the United States and its Allies and partners will respond in a united and decisive way. The world will hold Russia accountable.”

– The United Kingdom

The Prime Minister of the UK, Boris Johnson on Thursday promised that the UK and its allies will respond decisively to Russia’s “unprovoked” attack on Ukraine.

Johnson in a post on his Twitter account wrote, “President Putin has chosen a path of bloodshed and destruction by launching this unprovoked attack on Ukraine. The UK and our allies will respond decisively.”

– Japan

The Prime Minister of Japan, Fumio Kishida, on Thursday, while addressing newsmen after a meeting of the country’s security council said, “the latest Russian invasion shakes the foundation of the international order, which does not permit unilateral attempts to change the status quo.”

“We strongly condemn Russia. We will coordinate efforts with the international community, including the United States, and deal with this swiftly.”

– Italy

The Prime Minister of Italy, Mario Draghi on Thursday condemned Russia’s attack on Ukraine describing it as “unjustified and unjustifiable.”

Draghi in a statement said, “The Italian Government condemns Russia’s attack on Ukraine. It is unjustified and unjustifiable. Italy is close to the Ukrainian people and institutions in this dramatic moment. We are working with European and NATO allies to respond immediately, with unity and determination.”
