What Supreme Court Did For My Husband On October 26 – Tinubu’s Wife Reveals

Nigeria’s First Lady, Senator Oluremi Tinubu, on Tuesday (today) disclosed what the Supreme Court did for her husband, President Bola Tinubu, during the proceeding on petitions against him by the 2023 aggrieved presidential candidates.

Recall that the Supreme Court on October 26, 2023, affirmed President Tinubu as the substantial winner of the February 25th presidential election.

Last Thursday, the court, presided over by Justice John Okoro, dismissed all the appeals of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) candidate, Atiku Abubakar and Peter Obi of the Labour Party, who were challenging an earlier ruling by the Presidential Election Petition Tribunal.

The Supreme Court said all the petitions by the aggrieved candidates were lacking in merit.

Speaking, however, in Owerri on Tuesday, the President’s wife, who led All Progressives Congress (APC) women at a campaign rally for the re-election bid of Governor Hope Uzodimma, said the Supreme Court had given Tinubu a clean bill.

She described the court’s verdict as ‘Lord’s doing’.

Promoting the candidate of the APC in the November 11 governorship election in Imo State, Mrs Tinubu reassured the residents of Imo of her husband’s promise to make South East an industrial hub in Nigeria.

Oluremi Tinunu said: “You can see, the court has already given my husband a clean bill, and we believe that this is the Lord’s doing, and it is marvellous in our eyes.”

She encouraged the people to vote for the incumbent governor in the November 11, 2023 poll, saying: “Let me tell you, like my husband promised, that the East will be the industrial hub of Nigeria. And the development of the South-East starts from Imo.
