Former presidential aide, Reno Omokri, has claimed that the lifestyle in the Western world is not good enough when compared to staying in Nigeria.
Naija News reports that Nigeria have continued to experience an increase in the number of people leaving the country to seek greener pastures.
Some may not have wished to leave, but the economic challenges had forced many to join the ‘japa’ syndrome.
In a post via Twitter, Reno analysed the lifestyle in the Western world and how many people hold down to three or more jobs to sustain the illusion of the flashy wealth they display online.
According to him, people work themselves to the ground to pay for utilities, and there is hardly time to relax or just do nothing.
He noted it is saddening that a large percentage of the population still says negative things about the country.
Reno added that Nigerians may not have a perfect life, but they still have a good one.
He tweeted: “Many of those you think are enjoying in Canada, America, the UK and continental Europe hold down three jobs to sustain the illusion of wealth they flash at you. If they miss three mortgage payments, banks WILL foreclose on their homes.
“They work themselves to the ground to make monthly payments for houses, cars, furniture, and health insurance. They can hardly relax. No time to just do nothing. A lot of them have very little family or social interaction. The rat race takes the place of family. They have to pay through their noses for childcare because it is not like Nigeria, where your relatives and friends can watch your kids.
“Too large a percentage of Nigerians have been blessed by satan to always and only say negative things about Nigeria. Get the book The Lonely Londoners and read it. It is old. But it still accurately captures life in the Western world. We may not have a perfect life in Nigeria. But we have a good one”
