Saudi Arabia has noted that it is not in support of any further escalation of tension in the Middle East.
This the country stated in reaction to the murder of Iranian head elite Quds Force, Qassem Soleimani,
Since the incidence occurred last Friday, tensions have heightened in the region, as his death has generated wide condemnation from world leaders.
Also, Naija News reports that there has been a series of war threats from both America and Iran with the Middle East country’s latest threat to retaliate the assassination of their general.
Last night, multiple rockets were launched near the US embassy in Baghdad Iraq.
Speaking through its Foreign Minister, Prince Faisai bin Farhan, Saudi said the region is at a “very dangerous moment.”
“We are very keen that the situation in the region doesn’t escalate any further.
“It’s certainly a very dangerous moment and we have to be conscious of the risks and dangers not just to the region but to wider global security,” Farhan told a news briefing in Riyadh, Al Jazeera reports.
“We hope that all actors take all the steps necessary to prevent any further escalation and any provocation.”
