The details of the recent meeting between NATO and the President of the United State, Donald Trump, over the tension in the Middle East have emerged.

Over the Middle East tension, the Secretary-General of NATO, Jens Stoltenberg, had a phone call with the US President.

NATO in a post on their Twitter account confirmed that Trump and Stoltenberg discussed the tension and NATO’s role.

After the meeting, both parties agreed that NATO could contribute more to regional stability and the fight against international terrorism.

NATO in the tweet wrote: “Trump asked the Secretary-General for NATO to become more involved in the Middle East.”

“They agreed that NATO could contribute more to regional stability and the fight against international terrorism.”

“They also agreed to stay in close contact on the issue as NATO plays a key role in the fight against international terrorism, including through training missions in Iraq and Afghanistan and as a member of the Global Coalition to Defeat ISIS.”
