Tunde Bakare Gives Fresh Update On Succeeding Buhari

The General Overseer of the Latter Rain Assembly, Lagos State, Pastor Tunde Bakare, says a trending video of him saying he will become Nigeria’s next President was merely an expression of his aspiration.

Naija News recalls that the clergyman had declared that he would take over from President Muhammadu Buhari when his tenure expires in 2023.

“I will succeed Buhari as President of Nigeria, nothing can change it. I am number 16, Buhari is number 15.

“I never said it to you before. I am saying it now and nothing can change it.

“In the name of Jesus, he is number 15. I am number 16. To this end was I born and for this purpose came I into the world,” Bakare had said.

This online news platform understands that Bakare’s comment was greeted by a storm of criticism from Nigerians.

Speaking again on the matter, Bakare, who was Buhari’s running mate in 2011, said what God showed him was his personal business.

The popular Pentecostal pastor added that he had a right to aspire to the highest office.

“It is the true expression of my political ambition. Whatever God has shown me is my private ambition,” Bakare said.

Pastor Bakare explained that the video was shot about one year and seven months old.
