Top PDP Chieftain Decamps To APC In Kogi

A chieftain of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Ismail Inah Hussein, has decamped to the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Kogi State.

Naija News learnt that the former federal lawmaker in the House of Representatives decamped to APC alongside others loyal to him in the PDP camp.

Hussein, who represented Idah Federal Constituency in Kogi State, confirmed his defection on Friday in Ajaka, Igalamela-Odolu Local Government Area, at the campaign rally organized by APC.

The politician reportedly attributed his decision to his desire to contribute to the development of Kogi State and the country as a whole.

According to him, the APC government in Kogi State had instituted unity, security and overall development of the state, hence, his decision to support the governorship candidate of the APC in the forthcoming election, Usman Ododo, for consolidation.

Hussein vowed to mobilize massively for his new party and ensure that APC wins overwhelmingly in the November 11 poll.

The APC Chairman in Kogi State, Abdullahi Bello, while welcoming the new members, expressed confidence that the APC would win overwhelmingly in the forthcoming election.

Dignitaries present at the event included former State Chairman of APC, Hadi Ametuo; Deputy Governorship Candidate, Joel Oyibo; Zonal Chairman of APC, Muhammed Alfa; member representing Idah Federal Constituency at the House of Representatives, David Zacharias; former Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, Sadiq Abubakar Ainoko, among others.
