2023: I’ll Leave Nigeria If Tinubu Emerges President – Bode George

A former Deputy National Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party, Bode George, has vowed to leave Nigeria if the National Leader of the All Progressives Congress, Bola Tinubu emerges as the President of the country in 2023.

George while speaking in an interview with Vanguard noted that he does not have anything against the former Governor of Lagos State, but he (Tinubu) does not have what it takes to manage the country.

The PDP chieftain further stated that Tinubu would be the greatest joke on the international plane if elected as President of Nigeria.

Makinde, Balogun, Ladoja, Others In Closed-door Meeting

Governor Seyi Makinde of Oyo State on Saturday met with members of the Olubadan-in-Council behind closed-doors.

Naija News reports that the meeting is being held at the Government House, Agodi Ibadan.

The meeting reportedly started shortly after Makinde had attended the Armed Forces Remembrance Day event.

The lawmaker representing Abia North Senatorial district and Chief Whip of the Senate, Orji Uzor Kalu, has reacted to his trial for alleged N7.65 billion fraud.

The former Governor of Abia State in an interview with Arise TV said he is too wealthy to suddenly become a thief in Nigeria.

He said, “Everybody, even you Reuben (Abati), you know me pre-1991, 1992, 1993, 1994, you know I bankrolled everything, all the money politicians paid during that period, you know I was the one who brought the money in the PDP. So, how can I become a thief suddenly?”.

At least three people were reportedly killed in Chibok, Borno State on Friday night by suspected members of the dreaded Boko Haram terrorists.

Naija News learnt that the assailants stormed the community in their numbers and carried out the heinous operation without any opposition.

A resident in the area who is confirmed to be a lecturer in the College of Education Dr. Shuaibu Musa told journalists on Saturday morning that hundreds of ISWAP/Boko Haram terrorists stormed the community, shooting sporadically last night.

Former military head of state, General Ibrahim Badamosi Babangida (rtd), popularly called IBB has revealed who his ideal candidate for the 2023 presidential election would be.

IBB who didn’t mention any particular name, however, stated that there are some specific attributes such a person must have.

According to the former president during a recent interview with Trust TV, the person who should take over from President Muhammadu Buhari should among other things, be a young person, who is conversant with happenings in the country and has good communication skills.

Gunmen Attack Imo Headquarter, Kill Inspector

Unknown gunmen have killed a police inspector, while another cop sustained an injury during an attack on the Mgbidi Divisional Police Headquarters in Imo State.

It was gathered that the attack which happened on Friday night led to panic in the area as the gunmen who came in a vehicle and police operatives engaged in a gun duel.

The spokesperson for the state police command, Micheal Abattam, while confirming the development said the attackers were repelled by cops on duty.

The lawmaker representing Abia North senatorial district, Orji Uzor Kalu, has revealed the businesses he ventured into that made him a billionaire.

Kalu disclosed this in an interview with Arise TV amidst his ambition to take over from President Muhammadu Buhari after his tenure ends in 2023.

The Chief Whip of the Nigerian Senate said he has been involved in different kinds of businesses, ranging from the sales of palm oil to crude oil export and the importation of sugar.

Divisional Police Officer Owns Illegal Refinery In Rivers – Wike Alleges

The Governor of Rivers State, Nyesom Wike, has asked for the redeployment of a Divisional Police Officer for allegedly operating an illegal refinery in the state.

The governor had on Friday held a security meeting at the Government House, having in attendance the likes of the council chairmen and heads of the Nigerian Army, Nigerian Air force, Nigerian Navy, Nigerian Police, the Directorate of State Service and the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps.

Naija News understands that the governor during the meeting issued a 48-hour ultimatum to the 23 local government chairmen to list out all illegal refineries and their operators within their jurisdiction.
