Tinubu Using His Kinsmen To Keep Ado Bayero In Kano – Dungurawa

The chairman of the ruling New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP) in Kano State, Hashim Dungurawa, has claimed that President Bola Tinubu is trying to impose the 15th Emir of Kano, Aminu Ado Bayero, on the Emirate because of his Yoruba background.

He made the claim on Sunday while addressing journalists in Kano on the achievements of the ruling NNPP in the State in the last one year.

The NNPP chieftain alleged that Tinubu is using his kinsman to keep Ado Bayero in Kano.

Naija News reports that despite the reinstatement of the formerly deposed Emir, Sanusi Lamido as the 16th Emir of Kano, the 15th Emir, Ado Bayero, still remains in the palace.

While Sanusi, is holding court at the main Kano emir’s palace, Bayero is at the mini palace at the Nassarawa GRA, both in Kano city.

Sharing his thoughts on the Emirate tussle, Dungurawa insisted that there was no reason for Bayero to be given special protection by the Nigerian Army, Police, DSS and other security agencies against the interest of the state government.

He warned that President Tinubu’s alleged meddling in the Kano Emirate tussle would backfire against the President in 2027.

If the President thinks he will use a few of his kinsmen in Kano and the alleged Bayero’s Yoruba lineage to continue to keep the deposed Emir Aminu Ado Bayero in the State, let him wait for 2027, we will show him that those people will not help him,” Dungurawa warned.

He then appealed to the President to see reason in doing all he could to bring to an end to the Kano Emirate debacle by ensuring that the deposed Emir was taken away from Kano.

Dungurawa further called for a review of the 2019 election outcomes, insisting that the immediate-past governor of Kano State and APC national chairman, Abdullahi Ganduje, didn’t win the second term election as Kano State governor.
