Tinubu: Actor Olaiya Igwe Lands In Trouble Over N@ked Video

Veteran Nollywood actor, Ebun Oloyede, popularly known as Olaiya Igwe, is set to face a disciplinary committee set up by the Theatre Arts and Motion Pictures Practitioners of Nigeria (TAMPAN) over an unclad video of him praying for the victory of the All Progressive Congress (APC) 2023 presidential candidate, Bola Tinubu.

Naija News reports that in an interview with PUNCH, Nollywood actress and TAMPAN executive member, Rose Odika, said Olaiya has been summoned to face a disciplinary panel to explain himself, but he is yet to appear before it.

Rose noted that Olaiya Igwe has the right to support any candidate but the TAMPAN association has a moral justification angle and the actor has also breached the industry ethics.

She noted that there are no rules of engagement regarding members of the association supporting politicians because people are free to support who they want.

She said: “He has the right to support whoever he wants to, but we have the moral justification angle. We are looking at the morality behind that advert (video). It is not about who he is supporting. It is about him breaching the code of ethics (of our association and industry.”

“People have the free will to support whoever they want to. We were first citizens before becoming actors, so we have every right to be engaged in politics and how we are governed.”

However, PUNCH reached out to Olaiya, and he stated that he was not aware of such a move by TAMPAN.

He said: “I don’t know who discussed that with you. I did not hear anything about that. God bless you.”
