Three Killed As Terrorists Invade Community In Niger

At least three people were reportedly killed last night when terrorists stormed Maguzawa, a community in the Rafi Local Government Area of Niger state.

Reports made available to Naija News revealed that an unspecified number of people were abducted during the attack.

The abducted victims according to reports include mostly women and children. Some residents are said to have fled the community to Kagara and Pandogari communities in the state, while some escaped to neighbouring Birinin Gwari town in Kaduna State.

Naija News understands that Maguzawa is about 25km from Kagara town where terrorists abducted hundreds of school children a few months ago.

A source who confirmed the latest attack to Daily Post on Thursday morning said the Maguzawa attack came less than 48 hours after bandits killed about five persons and many others were abducted in a raid of the Gidigore community also in Rafi Local Government, on Tuesday night.

“In Maguzawa, three persons were slaughtered an unspecified number of people were kidnapped and some people have fled. We have seen three corpses so far and they were slaughtered. We don’t know the number of people they went away with for now,” the media platform quoted the source as saying.

According to the source, the village and surrounding communities have been living at the mercy of bandit terrorists for the past three weeks.

He stated that a resident, Ibrahim Ahmad’s brother was among those kidnapped on Tuesday night, explaining that many people had fled their homes to Kagara and Pandogari in Niger State and Birnin Gwari in Kaduna State.

He further claimed that the communities had in less than three weeks recorded about 10 different attacks.

“As I speak to you, they have demanded N50 million for the first set of people they kidnapped,” the source told reporters. According to him, several houses and properties belonging to peasant farmers have been wrecked by the bandit terrorists in their last operation.

He alleged that the assailants operated without any confrontation from the security personnel.

The state Police Command’s Public Relations Officer, DSP Wasiu Abiodun who was contacted by the media platform confirmed the attack on Didigore but refused to make further comment on latest attack.
