The legendary French footballer, Thierry Henry, has expressed strong confidence in Barcelona’s potential to win this season’s UEFA Champions League.
The former Arsenal and Barcelona star highlighted the strengths of the Catalan club and noted that their past setbacks in the competition could serve as lessons to propel them further this season.
Since bringing in former Bayern Munich manager, Hansi Flick, ahead of the commencement of the 2024-2025 season, the team has shown remarkable performance.
After a challenging start against AS Monaco, they regrouped impressively, securing victories against Young Boys (5-0 at home), Bayern Munich (4-1 at home), and Crvena zvezda (2-5 away). 
Following their triumph over Crvena zvezda, Henry shared his insights with CBS Sports, referring to Barcelona as a strong contender for the 2024-2025 UEFA Champions League title.
He stated, “Right now, this team must be considered one of the favourites to win the Champions League. Will they triumph?
“Sometimes, encountering defeat in a semi-final or quarter-final can teach a team the difficulties of elimination. However, I genuinely believe they are well-equipped to excel this time around.”
Note that Henry himself secured his only Champions League trophy with Barcelona during the 2008-2009 season after about eight years at Premier League side, Arsenal in two separate spells.
