Sowore Reacts As Appeal Court Declares Him AAC National Chairman

Former presidential candidate, Omoyele Sowore has reacted to the court affirmation on Thursday which declared him as the National Chairman of the African Action Congress (AAC).

Sowore was affirmed as the National Chairman of the party by a Court of Appeal in Abuja, Naija News recalls.

The court in its ruling on Thursday noted that a 2019 judgement by the High Court which sacked Sowore as the chairman of AAC was out of the court’s jurisdiction, adding that it was an internal affair.

Justice Iyang Ekwo in a judgement in 2019 had ruled that it was satisfied that Sowore had been suspended by the National Executive Committee of the party.

The Appeal Court, however, nullified the judgement on Thursday and declared Sowore as the national chairman as against Leonard Nzenwa.

The court subsequently awarded a sum of N200,000 to the applicants.

Reacting to the development, Sowore took to the micro-blogging platform, Twitter where he congratulated members of the party and stated that a revolutionary people can’t be defeated.

“Congratulations to members of @aacparty worldwide! A revolutionary people cannot be defeated!”, he wrote.
