Sokoto Governor Swears In New Deputy Governor

The governor of Sokoto State, Aminu Tambuwal, has sworn-in Alhaji Manir Dan’iya as deputy governor, following the resignation of the former deputy governor, Alhaji Ahmed Aliyu, on the 13th of Nov.

Tambuwal, who revealed that he was in good term with the out-gone deputy governor, held the swearing-in ceremony on Friday at the International Conference Centre in Sokoto.

The former Presidential aspirant of the Peoples’s Democratic Party (PDP) prayed that God will guide the new deputy governor to make him discharge his duties diligently.

“I and my former deputy are in a cordial relationship as his resignation is on personal grounds.

“I hereby urge the youth in the state to come together and cast their votes for PDP in order to achieve success,” he said.

Aliyu, who is the All Progressives Congress (APC) governorship candidate for the 2019 poll in the state, resigned his position to enable him concentrate on his campaign.
