Senator Shehu Sani has reacted to the arrest of the co-founder of WikiLeaks, Julian Assange, by Britain Police.
Naija News had reported that British police on Thursday arrested WikiLeaks founder at Ecuador’s embassy in London.
This is following the withdrawal of his asylum by the Ecuadorian government.
Julian Assange has been living at the embassy since 2012 when he sought refuge there.
Reacting in a post on Twitter, Shehu Sani hailed Assange for exposing the “dark corners of democratic societies.”
He wrote: “Assange beamed the light in the dark corners of democratic societies.
“He unveiled what is behind the facade of freedom.
“His case sums up the limitations of the claims of liberty when it comes under extreme scrutiny.”
