Senate Moves Plenary To Friday Over Imo Senator, Uwajumogu’s Death

The Nigeria Senate on Thursday suspended plenary in honour of the late Senator Benjamin Uwajumogu.

The Leader of the Senate, coming under order 43, notified the Senate of the death of the Senator.

He called for a minute silence while the Senate rule was amended to enable the Senate to sit on Friday.

The motion was seconded by Minority Leader, Senator Enyinnaya Abaribe.

Naija News reports that plenary was adjourned till Friday.

Senator Benjamin Uwajumogu, a Senator representing Imo North Senatorial District at the Nigerian Senate has passed away.

Uwajumogu slumped in the toilet while taking his bath and was rushed to a private hospital in Apo, Abuja, Nigeria’s capital, where he was confirmed dead.

This online news platform understands that Senator Rochas Okorocha, representing Imo West Senatorial District, confirmed the death of Uwajumogu to reporters at the Senate on Wednesday, December 18.
