The defense of the 2020 appropriation budget continued yesterday as the National Assembly Joint Committee on Ethics, Privileges and Public Petition has ordered the anti-corruption agencies to start the prosecution process on a contractor who abandoned the construction of the headquarters of the Code of Conduct Bureau(CCB) in Abuja.
Naija News learnt that the legislators were not happy with the development of the abandoned project which was reportedly left at the foundation level since 2015.
Speaking further, the Chairman of Senate Committee on Ethics, Privileges and Public Petitions, Ayo Akinyelure said he had always wondered why the CCB did not take action against the contractor, despite being one of the statutory agencies recognised by the constitution to fight graft.
