Kaduna State Governor, Nasir El-Rufai, has felicitated Muslims in the state on the occasion of this year’s Eid-el-Fitr.
He congratulated the Muslim ummah on the successful completion of the Ramadan fasting.
The Governor also prayed to Almighty Allah to accept their acts of worship, abstinence and charity that characterized the fasting period.
El-Rufai in a statement issued by his special adviser on Media and Communication, Muyiwa Adekeye, urged the citizens to keep hope alive amidst the security challenges bedevilling the state.
The Governor’s message, Naija News understands was coming after the Eid prayers today.
Governor El-Rufai, Senator representing Kaduna Central senatorial district, Senator Uba Sani; the immediate-past Commissioner of Finance, Muhammad Sani Dattijo, some other dignitaries and the Muslim faithful were all led in prayers today by the 14th Emir of Kano, Muhammadu Sanusi II.
The Eid prayer was observed at Murtala Square prayer ground in Kaduna, the state capital, Naija News understands.
El-Rufai in the statement made available to newsmen, admonished the Muslim faithful to extend the spirit of Ramadan into everyday life, practising faith and worship in the noblest tradition, and treating fellow humans with charity and generosity of spirit.
The statement said: “governor appealed to all residents of Kaduna state to continue to do their utmost for peace and harmony in all our communities.’’
El-Rufai further assured residents of the state government’s unwavering commitment and determination to rally every resource to address the security challenges and make the communities safer for life, liberty and livelihoods.
“Allah to bless the people of Kaduna state and their endeavours and to bring peace, prosperity and progress to Nigeria,’’ the statement added.
