Spokesperson of the Nigeria Police Force, Olumuyiwa Adejobi, has revealed that the Police will soon commence clampdown on traffic offenders and fight all vehicle-related crimes to a standstill.
In a tweet on Wednesday night, Adejobi said the Force will frustrate all illegalities and noncompliance with traffic rules and regulations.
Naija News reports that he advised vehicle owners to renew and update their papers ahead of the Operation.
“The Nigeria Police Force will soon operationalise the e-CMR and Operation velvet. This is to inform Nigerians who are vehicle owners to go and renew or update their papers. We will frustrate all illegalities and noncompliance with traffic rules/regulations in Nigeria and fight all vehicle-related crimes to a standstill in this country,” he wrote.

Meanwhile, the Police in Kano on Wednesday ensured that the ruling New Nigeria People’s Party (NNPP) and the opposition All Progressives Congress (APC) signed a peace treaty with the Kano State Police Command.
Speaking to reporters on Thursday at the Police Command Headquarters in Bompai, the state’s commissioner of Police, Mohammed Usaini Gumel, stated that the Force has developed strategies to advance harmony and peace in the state before, during, and following the ruling.
Along with other chiefs of security agencies, Gumel continued, saying that all security measures to maintain calm had been completed by the command.
