A governor aspirant under the Peoples Democratic Party in Rivers State, Farah Dagogo has been taken to the hospital from police custody.
Recall that the lawmaker representing Degema/Bonny Constituency was arrested last Thursday on the order of the state Governor, Nyesom Wike.
Dagogo was arrested during the screening of governorship aspirants at the party secretariat in Port Harcourt.
Governor Wike had declared him wanted on allegation of disrupting the PDP screening of aspirants for State Assembly alongside some cultists last Wednesday.
Dagogo was later remanded in police custody by a magistrate court in Port Harcourt.
The media aide to the lawmaker, Ibrahim Lawal in a statement released on Wednesday disclosed that Dagogo complained of stomach and chest complications before he was taken to the hospital by the police.
Lawal disclosed that his principal is now receiving treatment at the hospital.
He promised to give an update on the issue as the situation goes on.
The statement reads, “Hon. Doctor Farah Dagogo has been taken to the hospital by the Police. He complained of stomach and chest complications. He is receiving treatment now.
“Update will be given as the situation goes on.”
