Imo State Governor, Hope Uzodimma, has advised Nigerians to be patriotic to the country, stating that only patriotism will propel Nigeria.
Uzodimma said Nigeria’s growth hinged on the collective dedication of all the citizens to the ideals of principle, responsibility and service.
Uzodimma said this on Thursday while delivering lectures on the topic “Patriotism and Citizenship” at Yoruba Tennis Club, in Lagos.
He said there was a need “for a rebirth of patriotism among our citizens, aligning with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s transformative vision for our nation.” 
Imo State governor said acts of patriotism involve deep-seated love for the country, a commitment to its progress and a willingness to contribute to the common good.
“Patriotism, at its core, involves a deep-seated love for our country, a commitment to its progress, and a willingness to contribute to the common good. It requires us to uphold the principles of integrity, responsibility, and service.
“Our nation’s growth hinges on our collective dedication to these ideals, and it is imperative that we foster a renewed spirit of patriotism within our communities,” Governor Uzodimma said.
He added that patriotism will not only propel the country forward, it will also grow the unity of the citizens.
Uzodimma added, “Embracing patriotism will not only propel our nation forward but also unify us in our shared goals and aspirations.
“I commended the management of the Yoruba Tennis Club for their foresight in championing this cause.
“Their initiative to instill a spirit of patriotism is commendable, and I am fully committed to supporting this worthy endeavor.”
