There was pandemonium along Kaduna-Birnin Gwari Highway in Kaduna State following the abduction of an unspecified number of traders.
Naija News gathered that the traders, who were on their way to Kaduna and Kano states, were kidnapped when their convoy was attacked on Wednesday.
According to a resident of Buruku town, the terrorists kidnapped the traders closed to Unguwar Yako Forest and reportedly killed one of the traders.
He said, “They attacked the convoy and abducted an unspecified number and one person was said to have been killed. The people were on their way to Kano and Kaduna.”
Meanwhile, two female students of the Plateau State Polytechnic, Barkin Ladi Campus, have been kidnapped by some gunmen.
It was gathered that the students were abducted and whisked to an unknown destination during an invasion of a hostel known as ‘Plateau Embassy’ on Thursday.
Confirming the incident, the spokesman of the state Police Command, ASP Gabriel Ubah, said the students were actually kidnapped in Ban Village and one suspect has been arrested.
He disclosed that the identities of the kidnapped students have been known. He revealed the names of the abducted students as Bencit and Longfei.
Ubah added that troops of Operation Safe Haven have been informed and they have mobilized their men to the general area.
