The Osun State chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party on Tuesday lost over 500 supporters in the Boripe Local Government Area of the state to the All Progressives Congress.
The ruling party received the defectors during the campaign rally of the APC held in Iragbiji, the hometown of Governor Adegboyega Oyetola.
The Chief Press Secretary to the state Governor, Ismail Omipidan while speaking on the development, noted that the defectors joined APC due to the way Oyetola has been running the affairs of the state.
The defectors promised to work for the victory of the party and its candidate in the July 16 governorship election. 
The Osun State Governor while addressing the crowd at the rally of the party, appreciated them for supporting his administration.
Oyetola noted that if he wins the forthcoming election, he “would be more rewarding and resourceful, as the first term was a foundation for a brighter future.”
The APC governorship candidate in the July 16 election called on people of his state who are yet to collect their Permanent Voter Cards to do so.
According to Oyetola, their PVC would enable them to exercise their civic duty during the forthcoming governorship election.
