Detained Omoyele Sowore, the publisher of Sahara Reporters, says if he could survive the onslaught during the military era, he would survive his ongoing trial by the Federal Government led by President Muhammadu Buhari.
Naija News reports that Sowore, who is the convener of RevolutionNow, made this statement on Friday when he was arraigned by the Department of State Security Services (DSS).
This online news platform understands that the Sahara Reporters publisher has been in the custody of the DSS for over 60 days for planning the #RevolutionNow protest which held in parts of the country on August 5.
Sowore was brought before the judge on Friday in what was his second public outing since his arrest. He was charged with treasonable felony, fraud and cyberstalking which he pleaded not guilty to the charges.
On Friday, Sowore, a 2019 Presidential candidate, who granted a stringent bail condition, struck a defiant tone, urging Nigerians to liberate themselves no matter what it takes.
“Nobody can harass me. Under the military, we survived it; we will survive this one too.”
“It doesn’t matter how long it takes, we must persevere and ensure that we liberate ourselves. We must not give up,” Sowore said on Friday at the Federal High Court in Abuja.
