Seventy-five chiefs promoted to coronet traditional rulers by the former Governor of Ogun State, Ibikunle Amosun has been demoted by the state, Governor Dapo Abiodun.
The former Ogun State governor had promoted the chiefs to minor Obas at the end of his administration.
However, Abiodun on assuming office set up a committee to review the decision of the former governor of the state.
The committee was led by the Olu of Ilaro and the paramount ruler of Yewaland, Oba Kehinde Olugbenle.
The committee after investigating the promotion of the chiefs recommended the reversal of the elevation done by Amosun.
The State Executive Council during its meeting on Thursday approved the revocation of the appointments of 75 chiefs as minor Obas.
Governor Abiodun’s Chief Press Secretary, Kunle Somorin, in a statement revealed that the chiefs were demoted in consonance with the legal notice number three of 2019.
