The lawmaker representing Anambra North Senatorial District, Stella Oduah has won the senatorial ticket of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
This is coming at the time the National Youth Service Corps accused Oduah of absconding from service during the 1982/1983 service year.
Oduah on Friday gathered 278 votes to emerge the winner, while the first runner up Tony Nwoye got one vote and John Okechwu didn’t get any vote.
Nwoye had withdrawn from the contest a few days earlier.
The Senator representing Anambra Central District, Iyom Uche Ekwunife also picked the party tickets for the 2023 elections.
Chris Uba a member of the PDP Board of Trustees, picked the ticket of Anambra South Senatorial District after scoring 348 votes out of 454 votes at the primary election held in Awka Anambra State.
Ekwunife was returned unopposed because nobody was contesting against her.
However, two of the aspirants for Anambra South Senatorial District, Obinna Uzor and Valentine Ozigbo, withdrew from the race saying that they had no confidence in the electoral process.
The Independent National Electoral Commission and the delegates of the national party witnessed the primary.
