NYSC Advise Corps Members To Be Security Conscious

Corps members serving in Jigawa State have been advised by the National Youth Service Corps to be security conscious following the killing and kidnapping in Nigeria.

Brig.-Gen. Suleiman Kazaure, Director-General of the corps, stated this while speaking in Dutse on Tuesday at the NYSC camp in the state.

Kazaure who was represented by Yakubu Jok, expressed satisfaction with the level of cleanliness of the camp.

Mr. Yakubu described the Jigawa State camp as one of the best in the country in respect to maintenance of structures and facilities.

He took the opportunity to advise the corps members in the state to respect the culture of the host communities and be of good conduct in their society.

Ibrahim Abdullahi, the state coordinator of NYSC while speaking had stated that 83 corps members serving in the state had been reposted to a different place of primary assignment due to health and marital issue.

He further revealed that out of the 83 corps members that were reposted, 41 were redeployed for health reasons, while 42 were redeployed on marital grounds.

He said that a total of 2,070 corps members of batch A for the 2019 service year were received at the camp and all of them are hale and hearty.

He said that the state government had renovated some condemned structures at the camp.

“Some of the areas in which the government worked on are, upgrading of power supply, renovation of hostels, and purchase of new bedding for corps members, among others.”
