The Enyimba head coach, Yemi Olanrewaju has commended his players for their determination in their NPFL win against Lobi Stars on Wednesday, September 25.

The NPFL giants, Enyimba secured a 2-1 victory, with Ufere Chinedu scoring on his home debut and captain Eze Ekwutoziam doubling the lead from the penalty spot.

In an interview with Enyimba’s official website, Olanrewaju emphasized the importance of securing three points in the league and highlighted the significance of home victories.

“We’re happy to get the three points; that’s what matters,” he said.

“The league is a marathon and every game counts. Getting maximum points at home is crucial.”

Ikorodu City Coach Disappointed

Ikorodu City head coach Bright Ozebagbe has expressed disappointment with the team’s 1-0 loss to Rangers.

Chinemerem Ugwueze’s winning goal for Rangers left Ozebagbe acknowledging the need for improvement in the team’s performance.

“Sad, we made it an easy win for Rangers,” the coach said in a post-match interview.

“The expectation from Rangers from the game was to be more than what we saw, we will go back and work the players on places where we could have made a better decision in the final third.”

Rangers Goalie Expresses High Hopes

Rangers goalkeeper Lucky Abdullahi emphasized the importance of their 1-0 win over Ikorodu City following their CAF Champions League elimination.

Abdullahi expressed confidence in the team’s ability to contend for the NPFL title.

“The victory over Ikorodu City meant a lot to us because we lost our continental game and we came to Lagos to fight for the maximum points,” Abdullahi said.

“I believe we have the capability of lifting the NPFL title once again this season.”

El-Kanemi Warriors Beg For Support

El-Kanemi Warriors sought the support of their fans ahead of their upcoming match against Plateau United. The club’s secretary, Alhaji Bura Mustapha, urged fans to show sportsmanship and support the team.

“We had an away draw in Enugu with no problem. We had an away win in Lafia with no problem, we therefore appeal to our fans to always accept the result of matches in good faith and calmness because of our genuine love and efforts to develop Elkanemi warriors and the game,” Mustapha said.

Musa Abdulafeez Injured

Kwara United captain Musa Abdulafeez is facing a spell on the sidelines due to injury. The club extended their well wishes for his speedy recovery and assured him of their support during his rehabilitation.

“Wishing our Skipper, Musa Abdulafeez ‘Olororo’ a quick and smooth recovery,” Kwara United wrote on X.

“Our medics are doing everything necessary, and they’ve assured us that he’ll be back in action very soon.

“Our thoughts and support are with you, Skippo! Stay strong!.”
