The Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives, Benjamin Okezie Kalu, has predicted the outcome of the November 11 governorship polls in Imo State.
According to him, he was optimistic that the All Progressives Congress (APC) would defeat other political parties in the forthcoming election.
Kalu, as gathered by Naija News, declared his support for Governor Hope Uzodinma’s re-election bid and vows to work for his emergence.
The lawmaker, in a statement on Monday issued by his Chief Press Secretary (CPS), Levinus Nwabughiogu, applauded the efforts of the South East governors, headed by Uzodinma, for their commitment towards securing the region.
Kalu, who joined Uzodinma at a thanksgiving service held at Catholic Church Assumpta Cathedral to commemorate the 63rd Independence Day anniversary of Nigeria, noted that insecurity is a significant concern to the region’s leaders, especially those of the APC extraction.
He applauded the APC Governors’ Forum for providing “visible” leadership in the state, noting that he was in Owerri to meet with the governor to strengthen measures to tackle the growing security challenges in the region.
The Imo State Governor, Uzodinma, is contesting for reelection in the November 11 polls on the platform of the APC.
