Nigerians Speak On Leah Sharibu’s Over 200 Days In Boko Haram Captivity

Comments As Leah Sharibu’s Mother Sues Federal Government, Police Over Daughter’s Kidnap.

Nigerians have again criticized the Federal Government over delay in rescuing Boko Haram Kidnapped Leah Sharibu  who has now spent seven months in the terrorists’ custody.

This is as Mother Of Leah, Rebecca Sharibu, filed a suit with Daniel David Kadzai and a United States-based Lift-Up-Now Incorporation, a Non-Governmental Organisation, demanding N500m as a compensation for the indignities and human deprivations suffered by Leah since her kidnap in February 2018, Naija News reports

Notable Nigerians, celebrities and other individuals took to their Twitter handles to express displeasure at the Federal Government in the whole incident, saying that they do not understand how Nigerian Military were able to rescue 110 of the girls while leaving Leah Sharibu behind.

Why is the Government of Nigeria not doing anything about Leah Sharibu? Is it because she’s Christian or what, I don’t understand why a kid would still be held captive for over 200 days. It’s so disheartening.

A notable Nigerian Actress, Kate Henshaw wrote; ‘All Focus has shifted to elections Leah Sharibu is still missing’ . See her Tweet below

All focus has shifted to elections..
Leah Sharibu is still missing.
It’s been over 200 days…
What if she was your child???

Some have also looked elsewhere, noting that Pastors as well as the Christian Organizations should intervene, if the federal government has failed in its duty to rescue Sharibu.

If the Nigerian Government has refused paying the ransom money for the release of Leah Sharibu, can’t all the rich pastors in Nigeria help this poor kid? We only preach love but don’t practice it. Too bad

If @MBuhari‘s @AsoRock has refused to pay ransom for Leah Sharibu’s release, can’t CAN & other mega Christian centres allover Nigeria & well meaning Nigerians find a way to free Leah?

Its about that time when a Christian militant group is rightly needed! https://t.co/accSh4nRjJ

In other series of tweets, Nigerians prayed for Leah Sharibu to return safely, while some suggested that President Muhammadu Buhari should make sure to release Sharibu as a means to win the 2019 election.

Dear President Muhammadu Buhari, if you can free Leah Sharibu, believe me, you will surely win the next election. Shift your attention from campaigning and free Leah, concentrate on governance and see people vote for you.

I pray this morning that the angels that watches Daniel in the Lions Dane will keep watching Leah Sharibu.
Let me whisper to you Leah, they’re now talking bout politics, nobody is talking about your release.
The good news is that, God is already planning for your release.
