Some Nigerians and members of the National Youth Service Corps have reacted to the announcement of automatic employment by the Independent National Electoral Commission to corps members who distinguished themselves during the 2019 general election.
Naija News had earlier reported that INEC chairman, Prof. Mahmood Yakubu, during the presentation of laptops and phones used by the European Election Observation Mission to 75 corps members promised that the commission will grant automatic employment to NYSC corp members who distinguished themselves during the 2019 general election.
He further stated that corps members who participate in the Bayelsa and Kogi governorship elections scheduled for November will get the same reward.
The development has stirred reactions from Nigerians on social media as some called on the electoral body to pay their outstanding money during the 2019 election.
See some reactions below:
Some corpers died and some were brutally wounded here in River state, yet they are yet to be paid for there work done…..
Now, how realistic is this employment things.#thisisnigeria

You people are still owing some corpers that risked their lives for the last general elections.
I know at least two people.
Very shameful to say the least.
