Nigerian Prisons Service Speaks On Recruitment Exercise

The Nigeria Prisons Service (NPS) has warned Nigerians against falling victims to job scammers who are seeking to exploit the current recruitment exercise into the service.

In a statement issued by the NPS spokesperson, Francis Enobore, the service warned members of the public not to deal with anyone soliciting payment in order to facilitate their employment.

Enobore maintained that the Nigeria Prison Service does not collect money from job seekers.

The statement reads: “It has come to the knowledge of the management of the Nigerian Prisons Service that a syndicate has been masquerading itself as a recruitment agency for the Nigerian Prisons Service, deceiving unsuspecting members of the public and collecting monies for the purpose of securing appointments for job seekers.

“Members of the public are hereby informed that: The Nigerian Prisons Service has a standard recruitment protocol and neither uses agent(s), syndicate(s), private individuals nor receives financial inducement for recruitment purposes.

“The Nigerian Prisons Service dissociates itself from such illicit dealings and members of the public are advised to disregard entreaties from such groups as they are fraudsters.

“Shortlisted applicants for interview will be informed in due course by the Civil Defence, Fire, Immigration and Prison Services Board (CDFIPB).”
