The Rivers PDP loyal to the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, described the poll as an exercise in futility, vowing to challenge it in court.

The illegal arms, according to top security officers and experts, are partly responsible for the seeming insurmountable security challenges across the country, particularly in the North-West and North-East geopolitical zones.
