Police Reveals When Recruitment List Will Be Released

The Nigeria Police Force has explained that the final list of successful candidates for recruitment into the force is yet to be released.

It warned members of the public, as well as those who participated in the recruitment exercise to disregard any trending list as the authentic list, will only be released after final vetting by the Inspector-General of Police.

The Police added in a series of tweets from its official Twitter account over the weekend that the IG is out of the country on an official assignment.

“The members of the general public, particularly candidates who participated in the on-going recruitment exercise by the Nigeria Police are hereby advised to note that the final list of successful candidates will be released only after the receipt of the Recruitment Report and final vetting of the list by the Inspector General of Police.”

“Currently, the Inspector General of Police, IGP Mohammed Adamu NPM, mni, is out of the country on an official assignment and has not received the final report of the exercise containing list of successful candidates for the Police Constables recruitment.”

The statement added that candidates should be patient as the final list will be widely publicized in print, electronic and social media once it is vetted and receives requisite approval.

“Candidates who participated in the recruitment process are advised to exercise patience as the final and authenticated list of successful candidates, including the date of resumption for training, will be officially released and widely announced in both print, electronic and social media platforms in line with the established police processes as soon as the Inspector General of Police returns, formally receives the Recruitment Report, vets, and grants requisite approval.”

Meanwhile, as previously reported by Naija News, the Chairman of the Police Service Commission (PSC), Musiliu Smith, has written to the Chief of Staff to the President, Abba Kyari, on why the commission is in court over the recent police recruitment.

The Police Commission had accused the police authorities of padding the recruitment list of 10,000 constables with unqualified candidates, requesting that the process should be discarded.
