This period may not be the best of times for the All Progressive Congress (APC) leader and founder, Bola Tinubu and his political dynasty.
This is as groups within the APC led by politicians from northern extraction appear to have torpedoed Bola Tinubu’s influence under the watchful supervision of the President, Muhammadu Buhari.

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has revealed it possessed indicting petitions and other evidence against Senate President Bukola Saraki. The anti-graft agency was reacting to a statement by Saraki accusing the agency of ‘witch-hunting’.
The Senate President through Yusuph Olaniyonu, his Special Adviser, lambasted the EFCC over its decision to investigate his earnings while as Kwara State Governor. He stated that the commission was asked to go after him on a witch-hunt exercise by political opponents seeking to settle scores.
Nigerian Governor Wike Reports Security Challenges To Netherlands
Rivers State Governor, Nyesom Ezenwo Wike has tabled before the Charge D’Affairs, Embassy of Netherlands, Mrs Marian Van De Cappello, matters of insecurity as it concerns Nigeria and the state he governs.
Naija News understands that Wike told Mrs Marian about the security challenges experienced in some parts of the country when she visited the government house in Port Harcourt on Wednesday, May 8.
Wike during the visit of the Charge D’Affairs, Embassy of Netherlands, told Mrs Marian that the security matters in the country is not unconnected with politics as he claimed that the politicisation of security in the country is responsible for the insecurity across the country.
Okorocha Blows Hot, Dares INEC, Yakubu Over Certificate Of Return
The Imo state governor, Rochas Okorocha has declared that the Independent National electoral commission (INEC) has no right whatsoever to withhold his certificate of return for Imo West Senatorial District after declaring the result.
Naija News understands that Okorocha made this known while expressing his displeasure over the fact that he is yet to receive his certificate of return from INEC since he won the election of the Imo West Senatorial District.
Okorocha made his displeasures known at a news conference in Abuja on Wednesday, May 8 where he gave an ultimatum to the electoral umpire mandating the body to issue the certificate before the June 2019 Inauguration of the Ninth Assembly.
APC Insists On Lawan, Gbajabiamila As PDP Plots Counter
The All Progressives Congress (APC) has said there is no going back on the endorsement of Senator Ahmed Lawan and Femi Gbajabiamila as the next President of the Senate President and the Speaker of the House of Representatives, respectively.
Despite the ruling party’s support for Lawan, Senator Ali Ndume (Borno) and Senator Danjuma Goje (Gombe) are said to be interested in contesting against him.Some lawmakers, including from the South-West legislators, have also declared interest in contesting against Gbajabiamila.
But the APC National Publicity Secretary, Lanre Issa-Onilu, in an interview with The Punch, said the party was already looking beyond zoning and endorsement.
