BayelsaDecides2019: Heavy Security Presence In Major Junctions In Yenagoa

Security personnel have mounted checkpoints in major junctions in Yenagoa, the capital of Bayelsa, as the state votes to elect its governor, News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports.

Checks around the city showed heavy security presence at Imgbi, Opolo, Akenfa, Igbogene Okarki and gateway junctions.

Also heavily manned is the Tombia Roundabout, a location within the town that hosts major transport companies and motor parks.

Just In: Buhari Returns To Nigeria After Private Visit To UK

President Muhammadu Buhari on Friday evening returned back to Nigeria after his private visit to the United Kingdom.

Naija News reports that President Buhari was scheduled to return to the country tomorrow, November 16th.

The Presidential Jet touched down at about 9.45 pm.

DSS Give Reasons For Dasuki, EL-Zakzaky, Sowore’s Continued Detention

The Department of State Services (DSS) has explained its continued detention of Col. Sambo Dasuki (rtd.), Sheik Ibrahim El-Zakzaky and Omoyele Sowore.

Nigerians have condemned the security police policy of disobeying court orders and keeping notable persons undergoing trial in detention.

In a statement on Friday, spokesperson of the DSS, Peter Afunanya, revealed that Dasuki, Sowore and El-Zakzaky requested to remain with the agency.

Bayelsa: Appeal Court Orders INEC To Retain APC, David Lyon On Ballot

The Independent National Electoral Commission has been ordered by the Appeal Court sitting in Port Harcourt not to remove the All Progressives Congress and its governorship candidate, David Lyon, from the ballot.

This will also allow APC and its candidate contest in the November 16 governorship election in Bayelsa State.

Watch How Masked Gunmen Attack Makinde’s Hotel In Kogi

Naija News reports that masked men, armed with sophisticated weapons on Friday, broke into a hotel in Lokoja, Kogi State where Governor Seyi Makinde of Oyo state was lodged.

The armed men, wearing police uniforms reportedly arrived at the hotel where Governor Makinde and some other PDP leaders are lodged around 12.50 pm.
