Nigeria Among Top Five Countries In Africa With Most COVID-19 Cases, Deaths

The Africa Centre for Disease Control on Friday noted that the number of Coronavirus cases in the continent has risen to over 54,027 in the past 24 hours in 53 countries across the continent.

The development was announced by the Africa CDC on its Twitter account on Friday.

According to the statement released, Coronavirus has led to the death of 2,074 people, while 18,636 patients have recovered.

The dashboard of the agency revealed that South Africa, Egypt, Morocco, Algeria, and Nigeria top the list of countries with the highest reported Coronavirus cases and deaths on the continent.

“53 @_AfricanUnion Member States reporting 54,027 cases, 2,074 deaths, and 18,636 recoveries”.

Meanwhile, the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control announced 381 new cases of Coronavirus, bringing the total number of confirmed cases to 3526.
