Michika, a town in Adamawa state, northeast Nigeria, has been attacked by Boko Haram insurgents, Naija News understands.
A report monitored on an online news platform, TheCable by Naija News, says the Boko Haram fighters attacked Michika on Thursday evening, January 2.
Confirming the attack, a Nigerian Army soldier told TheCable that he got a call around 6 pm that the insurgents were already in the town.
“Michika is under attack right now. Our men are on their way to repel,” the soldier told TheCable.
Also confirming the attack, a north-east resident told the online news platform that his sister was trapped as a result of the attack.
Meanwhile, as at the time of filing this report, the spokesman of the Nigerian Army, Sagir Musa, was yet to issue a statement regarding the attack.
