Nollywood stars on Sunday night, December 11, 2022, turned out massively for the ‘Battle On Buka Street’ movie premiere of actress cum politician, Funke Akindele in grand style.

Naija News reports that the celebrities such as Mercy Johnson, Iyabo Ojo, Sola Sobowale, Nkem Owoh, Paul Okoye, Nkechi Blessing, Real Warri Pikin, Toyin Lawani, and many others brought their A-game with everyone trying to outdo one another.

The Nollywood stars were asked to turn up in outfits representing their culture with a touch of Christmas and many did justice to it.

The movie ‘Battle on Buka Street’, which is directed by Funke Akindele, tells the story of two women who found themselves at loggerheads when they set up a food business on the same street causing commotion and rivalry between their families.

It featured actors such as Bimbo Ademoye, Funke Akindele, Mercy Johnson-Okojie, Nkem Owoh, Sola Sobowale., Tina Mba, and Tobi Makinde.

‘It’s Always A Plus Working With Funke Akindele’

Mercy Johnson, who played one of the lead roles, took to Instagram to share some details about her character ‘Awele’.

The mother of four described her character as a grumpy personality who is very upset and unhappy with where she is in life.

She also noted that her character (Awele) complains about everything around her, notwithstanding, she likes the fact that Awele lives her truth.

Speaking about her experience with Funke Akindele on the movie set, Mercy said the mother of two imbibes her directing creativity and acting prowess into other actors to come out with exploits.

She added that it is always a plus for her while working with people like Funke.
