The Plateau State Governor, Simon Lalong has condemned the video released by the Islamic State West Africa Province where a student of the University of Maiduguri, Ropvil Dalyep, was killed.
Recall that Naija News reported that the terrorist group released a video where Dalep was killed by a young boy on Tuesday.
The Governor in a statement released through his spokesperson, Makut Macham, expressed outrage over the murder of the 22-year-old student of Biology Education of the University of Maiduguri.
He noted that the killing of the student could lead to perceived hatred for people based on religion and origin.
Lalong added that the incident should not be allowed to cause disunity among Nigerians as the ideology of Boko Haram is a merchandise of evil.
The Plateau State Governor commiserated with the family of the victim and assured them that the state government will support them in their time of distress.
He further stated that the report that Christians and people of Plateau state are being targeted by the terrorists must be condemned.
Governor Lalong noted that the state government would continue to work with security agencies and the Federal Government to ensure that those in detention are released while those behind the evil act are made to face the law.
