Kogi SDP Candidate, Murtala Ajaka Speaks On Stepping Down From Guber Race

Candidate of the Social Democratic Party (SDP) for the November 11 governorship election in Kogi State, Murtala Yakubu Ajaka, has denied stepping down from the race.

The governorship candidate was responding to a letter circulating the media stating his purported withdrawal from the race.

In a statement signed by the Director General, New Media MuriSam Campaign Council, Isaiah Davies Ijele, debunked the said letter, describing it as false and baseless.

Ijele added that it was the work of miscreants and the sinking ship of the ruling party in Kogi State. According to him, Ajaka is the candidate of the people and cannot step down for anyone at this point.

The SDP representative urged the public, particularly their followers, to dismiss the counterfeit withdrawal letter.

Additionally, the SDP accused the Kogi State ruling party of attempting to create a rift between them and the ADC and emphasized that the citizens of Kogi no longer desire their prolonged tenure in power due to purported mismanagement over the past seven and a half years.

“The fake letter of withdrawal began circulating online on November 3, 2023. The letter claimed that Ajaka had withdrawn from the race and endorsed the APC candidate, Yahaya Bello. The letter was purportedly signed by Ijele and Unekwu, which are lies from the pit of hell,” the statement read.
