Security Men Block NASS Complex In Line With NASS Leadership Directive

Security operatives and workers of the National Assembly have barricaded all the entrances to the assembly complex in day two of the workers’ 4-day warning strike.

Daily Trust reports that people were denied access to the complex.

However, as at 10:30.am, no lawmaker was sighted around the National Assembly.

But it was learnt that the lawmakers would be allowed entry to the Villa gate, which links the National Assembly with the Presidential Villa.

The leadership of the National Assembly had directed the Police and the Department of State Services (DSS) to ensure adequate security within the vicinity of the National Assembly from tomorrow morning to enable members and staff come in and perform their legitimate duties without any hindrance.

In a statement signed by Sani Omolori, Clerk of the National Assembly, the directive was passed after a meeting of the joint leadership of the two chambers with the management and representatives of the security agencies, Naija News reports.
