The Lagos State Government has revealed that six patients at the Infectious Disease Hospital have recovered and will be discharged.
This was made known by the Special Assistant to the Lagos State Governor on Health, Dr Tunde Ajay.
In a post on his Twitter handle, Ajayi wrote: “Six of our #COVID19 inpatients have recovered and will be discharged soon. There is something Lagos is doing right. Lagos takes the lead.”
Naija News recalls that five new cases of the Covid-19 Pandemic have been recorded in Nigeria with oil-rich Rivers State scoring its first casualty. There are now 51 confirmed cases of the deadly virus in the country.
Nigeria’s Center for Disease Control, NCDC, late Wednesday (local time) announced the development, saying the FCT Abuja recorded 2, Lagos 2 and Rivers State 1.
The NCDC further explained that three of the infected persons are returning travellers into Nigeria while the other two are close contacts of a previously confirmed case.
This comes as states across the country are scaling up efforts to combat the spread of the virus.
Residents have been asked to stay at home, stricter restrictions have been placed on public gatherings and people including governors and top officials are being forced to self-isolate.
