Veteran actress, Idowu Philips, popularly known as Iya Rainbow, has recounted her experience of becoming a witch.
Naija News reports that the 80-year-old actress during an interview with Daily Trust narrated how her son due to the suffering they were undergoing at the time encouraged her to become a witch to ease their pain.
Recall that the actress’s late husband died in 1984 after he was sick for two years, leaving five children for her to cater for alone.
Speaking about the experience, the veteran actress recalled how one of her children advised her to become a witch so they can be rich.
She revealed that the child, who didn’t align with her religious beliefs, promised to take her to where she would be initiated into witchcraft.
She said; “It was tough; after prayers, some of them would always cry. Whenever one of my sons saw me with a Bible he would ask what I was doing with it. At a point, he said he would take me to where I could become a witch and I agreed. He said that once I became a witch we would be okay.”
The veteran actress further revealed that she gave in after much pressure from her son, who later pulled her back after he realized the price it comes with.
“I agreed and he took me somewhere, but before God and man, when I got there and they told me the requirements, I was shocked. They said it was the child I loved the most that would be used for sacrifice.
“I told the person that it was the child I loved most that brought me to the place. At that point, my son held my hand and said it was time to go home,” she added.
