The Kaduna State Governor-elect, Uba Sani, and his deputy-elect, Dr Hadiza Sabuwa Balarabe received their certificates of return from the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) on Friday.
Naija News reports that along with Sani and Balarabe, 29 other elected members of the Kaduna State House of Assembly also received their Certificates of Return.
It was gathered that while the National Electoral Commissioner in charge of Kaduna, Plateau, Nasarawa and the FCT, Mohammed Haruna, presented the Certificates of Return to Sani and Balarabe, the Administrative Secretary of INEC, Kaduna State, Mohammed Mashi, presented the Certificates of Return to the 29 elected State House of Assembly members.
The governor-elect during a brief remark after receiving his certificate said he will lead with the utmost sense of humanity, responsibility and fear of Allah.
Sani, while pledging to work with everyone irrespective of their religious, ethnic and political affiliations, noted that he would carry everyone who voted and didn’t vote for him along.
He also appreciated the INEC, security agencies for their dedication and commitment to the discharge of their duties.
Sani noted that “We will focus on security, strengthening of institutions and infrastructure, trade and investments, agricultural and human capital development.
“I will like to commend the security agencies for maintaining law and order during the polls.”
It would be recalled that Sani was declared the winner of the March 18 governorship election in Kaduna State.
The governor-elect who contested on the platform of the All Progressive Congress (APC) polled 730,002 votes to defeat his closest rival, Isa Ashiru of the PDP who polled 719,196 votes, a difference of 10,806 votes.
