The governor of Edo State, Godwin Obaseki has stated that the candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the upcoming governorship election, Asue Ighodalo is not a ‘push-and-start’ candidate.
Obaseki asserted that considering the situation in the country, it would be a disservice to the state to elect somebody grossly incompetent and incapable of managing the state.
The governor stated this at the campaign ground at the Ogbaki Primary School, Agenebode, headquarters of Etsako East Local Government Area.
Obaseki said he preferred Ighodalo to succeed him to sustain the good government he already put in place in Edo State.
“Asue Ighodalo is not a ‘push-and-start’ candidate. The state needs competent hands to pilot its affair, given the level of suffering currently ravaging Nigeria today.
“So, it will be a big disservice to the state to elect somebody who is grossly incompetent and incapable of managing it. Edo is already enjoying good governance and that is why I brought Asue Ighodalo and Osarodion Ogie to continue the good work I am doing,” the governor said.
He assured the people that the foundation ceremony for the School of Agriculture (Fishry and Aqua Culture), which had been laid was sure to continue with Ighodalo, if elected the next governor.
