The International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) on Tuesday affirmed the execution of an abducted health worker in Nigeria by Boko Haram insurgents.
The 24 years old midwife, Hauwa Mohammed Liman, have been declared missing since March this year.
According to the Nigerian government, the executed midwife was killed at the expiration of the deadline given by her captors.
“The International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) received information indicating that Hauwa Mohammed Liman has been killed by her captors in a despicable act of cruelty,” the Geneva-based aid agency said in a statement.
Naija News reported the killing of the aide worker on Monday.
Hauwa iwas the second aide worker to be killed by the terrorists in one month.
