It Will Be Suicidal For My Artiste To Release Song Same Day As Wizkid, Asake – Don Jazzy

Meanwhile, ace Nigerian music executive cum CEO of Mavin Records, Micheal Ajereh, better known as Don Jazzy, has revealed why he does not allow his artistes to release songs or projects on the same day as their colleagues, Wizkid and Asake.

Naija News reports that Mavin Records has stars like Rema, Ayra Starr, Crayon, Magixx, Boy Spyce, Johnny Drille, and Lifesize Teddy on its radar.

In an interview with Nigerian Youtuber, Fisayo Fosudo’s podcast, Jazzy said releasing music on the same day as Wizkid or Asake would be suicidal and will postpone his artiste’s new project release to a later date.

He said, “We [Mavin] are moving from the traditional Friday release date to Wednesdays and Thursdays because there are no more Fridays [without another artist dropping a song].

“If my artiste is to drop a song or project on a Friday and Wizkid or Asake is also releasing that day, I will move our release date because you don’t want to just die a natural death.”
