‘I Am A Married Man, Don’t Come Close To Me’ – Wizkid Tells Female Fan

Nigerian artist Ayodeji Balogun, widely known as Wizkid, ignited a wave of discussions on social media after addressing a female fan at a recent event, asserting that he is married with children.

The incident took place during a ladies-only party hosted by the Grammy-winning musician in London on Tuesday.

A video clip that circulated widely on Wednesday captured the moment when Wizkid, amidst a throng of female admirers, noticed one woman getting a bit too close for comfort.

In the footage, he paused from his performance to gently remind the fan, saying, “Baby, I’m a married man. Don’t come close to me. I’m married, and my kids are at home.”

This comment triggered mixed reactions online, with some viewers interpreting his remarks as dismissive.

An X user known as DUKE OF UNILAG, under the handle dukeofunilag, criticized Wizkid, saying, “This guy is a w***y. He threw shade and then went off to enjoy himself.

Conversely, some fans defended Wizkid, claiming he was simply expressing his commitment.

A user named #nuggetman1 suggested that the singer expressed envy, wishing he had a marriage like his peer, David Adeleke, known as Davido. They tweeted, “He’s just wishing he’s married like Davido.”

@Halegbs wrote: “This one too is claiming married ! When did you do wedding? Low key wants to be like Davido . Do the wedding first and buy PJ, then you can get close to Davido’s level.”

Additionally, a user under the handle #lare_do1 speculated that Wizkid might be interested in transitioning to skit-making, humorously saying, “Wizkid wants to switch to skit making. Nasboi has entered music.”

On the flip side, several users praised Wizkid for his principled stance. One supporter, #aone.ayo1, asserted, “He’s a man of principles.” Another user, #Majorsiz, commented, “Man has married Jada lowkey.”

@eleojovictoor wrote: “Wizzy, a very wise man. No ambiguity with his relationship status.”

Moreover, #Cletus_annie_oge reiterated Wizkid’s sentiment, stating, “My married man baby, don’t go close to him, please.
